I was reading about Jochebed, the mother of Moses. She kept Moses alive and within her care as long as she could. At this time the Pharoah had decreed male children of the Hebrew tribe be killed. Moses survived due to his mother compassion and hope. Compassion because she didn't give him up right away. Hope because having run out of choices she built a raft of reeds for him to float down the Nile. Why didn't she just give him up right away? Love and compassion. And then why not just kill or drown him when time passed? She had hope and built a raft.
