Bomb

Watch the video

Audio excerpt from Lamrim.com, May 19, 2001.

archival footage from archive.org

"If we were to look at the human capacity for destruction purely from the point of view of the ability of human body then it is rather limited. But because of the sophisticated intelligence that we have, the faculty, therefore compared to other species of animals, human beings have this tremendous capacity for destructions as well."

My Home Movie Repost

Watch the video
I posted this series of videos before on Archive.org but I needed a faster server here on blip.tv. I believe in conditioning. I go by the idea that people's behaviour are influenced by conditioning. Therefore if you are brought up well, you too will become caring. I asked war refugees questions about surviving. This is original order of the questions. We should all work towards peace.

I'm going to start a series of video posts of World War II survivors. I watched Shoah this past year. I had to sit down and formulate my own movie regarding unspeakable tragedies. I grew up around survivors from WW II's Pacific theatre.
So as a nod to Claude Lanzmann's very important work, I made my home movie to give to my interviewees and their children.

Shoah is available for rent on Netflix, if you are looking for it.

StoryCorps.net was great help. I have to thank the people from Thislife.org especially Elizabeth Meister for answering my e-mail and turning me on to Storycorps' wonderful site.

Who were war collaborators?

Did you know any war collaborators?

Did collaborators associate with anyone after WW II?

What was their (collaborators') justification?

What happened to your friends and neighbors?

What day did the war start?

How did your father die?

How was your relationship with the Americans?

How old were you when the war started?

Do you remember the day it ended?

Did anyone get sick?

Where did you live?

Were there any times of peace?

Did you ever encounter the Japanese?

Was this the first time you encountered the Japanese?

Did you see cruelty towards civilians?

Bushwatch

If you ever wanted to talk to someone in a labor union about President Bush, you could pick up some material at this link. Imagine how absurd it would be if soldiers had an international union? Wouldn't everything be lovey-dovey? Oh well, I think you really have to work from within and out. The five senses aren't 100% reliable, you have your noggin to sort things out. It's too bad when the state you meet your opponent is violence.

From the Dhammapada:

Evil

4.
The evildoer may appear to be good before the harmful act matures. But when the deed has ripened, the wicked are revealed.

5.
The good may appear evil before the good act matures. But when the deed has ripened, the good are revealed.

Blue Passes Open Guard, Scores Points

Watch the video

In this grappling match, the competitor in blue continuously attempts to submit his opponent and succeeds in passing the open guard. He easily wins by passing his opponent's legs, controlling side control, and playing an aggressive game.

Music: The Minutemen-Colors

The Straight Armbar, again.

Previously the straight armbar was executed from side control. This time around the position is the same, with strong center of gravity and swiveling action while maintaining control. Music in previous armbar post was the Lunachicks' "Bad Witch". In this video- John Zorn's "Classical".

Womens Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

In this clip, we see the competitor in white break from the closed guard of the blue competitor. She maneuvers to the side control and attacks the left arm of her opponent. She completes the straight arm bar for the submission victory. It is remarkable how the competitor in white uses her left foot to hook the back of her opponent's left leg, preventing the rolling escape!

Vlog what?

While vlog posts tend to be short, you can still pack a lot of work into one. At the Freevlog site, each instructional video begins with a graphics intro and theme music. It also ends with a similiar theme. The videos are cohesive.

You can learn fast with vlogging. Besides editing and compressing, I have to ask myself- "What do I focus on?". Does my content need to be looking at the big picture or my daily world?

So here's my compromise- I'll work on what I know best- myself and maybe from time to time stray off course do something documentary.

Whenever I feel like saying hello to someone I was cruel to in the past I feel like a Roman Centurion, hands still bloody and asking for understanding from Jesus Christ at the cross.
