Violence

Watch the Video

2.8 MB 45 sec. The video clip is open source archival footage from Archive.org. The audio excerpt is from "Ethics for the New Millenium" talk from Lamrim.com. Violence can snowball, gain momentum. To paraphrase the Dalai Lama, this aspect of violence is more dangerous in an era of nuclear weapons. Although he thinks the wording of "New Millenium" is misleading, he believes people can take action right now to be more compassionate. I was involved in a scuffle once. A drunk fireman called me a chink in front of everyone at a party and this quote, this sound byte helps prevent me from being an aggressor. The choice is really yours- constantly practice humility or escalate hate.
